Crazzzzzzyyy couple of weeks. The 28th of November was transfers for the mission and start of hell week for the secretaries.

Tuesday- So Tuesday the 28th we were running all over the place, picking up the new people from the airport, handing out packages, agendas and a bunch of other crap to missionaries, meetings for all the new missionaries, we had to take all the people going home to the assistants house along with their bags, and then to top it off we had to prepare a church building for a big meeting with an area 70.

Wednesday &Thursday- So Wednesday and Thursday the mission had two meetings with the Elder Cordon, half on Wednesday and half on Thursday, Which means we had to make sure that lunch was served, that everyone had water, and that all the mics and tec were working properly. Then prez told us we were going to have our leadership meeting on Friday. So we were running around, getting everything ready and doing stuff all over again. Needless to say we didnt sleep lol. But everything got crazy on Thursday night when we were heading to set up for the leadership meeting, our prez called us and told us to stop everything and head home. Without asking we turned the truck around and went back to our house. The next morning we figured out why he made us go home.

FridaySaturday, &Sunday- (So Honduras is in the middle of election process right now and its quite a bit less professional  then voting in the states hahah. But apparently the votes are written on pieces of paper and then counted one by one. So Sunday the 26th the elections were held and seeing as it takes FOREVER to count votes by hand they didn't get the official winner till Wednesday. The crazy thing is the guy who is the current president didnt win and because of that he made them do a recount, that made the people reallllllll angry. Apparently the current prez Juan Orlando isn't a great dood and is trying to become kind of like a dictator so the people were really mad when their candidate didn't win. so they started rioting, burning tires, robbing grocery stores, and blowin things up.) Anyways so Friday morning at like 430am we were supposed to take a sister missionary to the airport cause she finished her mission, but on the way to the office to get her passport we saw a huge blockade of people on the road with guns and fire so before we could get close we skrrted around and headed to the house. It was sooo scary but also like super dope. So we called prez and he said ya forget about it we´ll send her home another day. Poor girl had to wait like 4 more days to go home lol. but later that day prez sent out a text that said we all had to stay in our houses on lock-down till further notice. So that´s what we did. The ENTIRE MISSION couldn't leave their houses. this lock-in lasted 4 days. It consisted of a whole lot of Uno, sleeping, skating, and a lil studying i guess lol. It was the break we needed after hell week. Everytime we tried to call prez to try and do our sec jobs he would get mad and tell us not to worry and to just stay safe. Sooo we pretty much took that as his way of giving us a vacation. On Sunday there was no church Honduras wide. It was a crazy weekend.

MondayMonday prez let us out for a couple hours to write our families and to buy more supplies.

Tuesday till Today- We started to be able to go out and work and do our sec jobs, but still on a fixed schedule. Prez is still on his toes ready for anything seeing as they still havent officially announced the new president. But we are in this weird state of waiting, because we all know that things aren´t back to normal yet but we are still supposed to work like normal. There is a whole lot of gossip running around the mission about us getting locked down again, us getting moved to different missions, and a ton of other stuff. But we really wont know anything till they announce the new prez. As soon as the new president is elected thats when the riots might pick up again or the people might chill down, all depends on the winner.

As far as me, i´m doing all good just anxious to find out whats gonna happen down here lol. Love you guys.

welll its been a pretty crazy week guys. this week we had changes in the office. im officially the new financial secretary which means i have a ton of new responsibilities. im now in charge of making sure all the missionaries get their budgeted money on time, im in charge of making checks for all big mission activities or expenses, i take care of all reimbursements in the mission, and i pretty much have to be counting money alllllll day. its super stressful. i gotta make sure that all of the money of the church is put to good use and that none of it gets lost. honestly not sure why president chose such a bum like me to do the job but i guess its cool he trusts me. really the only perk that comes out of this job tho is now i get to drive. Driving in Honduras is one of the most fun and risky things ever. there are literally no rules. two lane roads become 3 or 4 lane roads, red lights are pretty much just stop sign, and the honking is nonstop. its super scary but it kinda doesnt even feel like driving, i juts feel like im in a go kart making my own rules on the street. the funny thing is that even the cops dont enforce rules, the other day i ran a red light and instead of doing anything responsible the cops actually sped up behind us to catch the red light lol. its seriously insane, im gonna feel real weird when i drive in the states again. but anyway because me and stone got moved up my boiz huscroft and Gonzalez got moved back to the field and we have two new guys elder merida whos almost about to finish his mish and my new comp elder zachreson who came with me to the mission. hes a chill guy hes from AZ too but from kingman, so hes kinda a small small town guy lol. so this past week ive just been teaching him my old job and ive had gonzo teaching me this new one. honestly everything is going good over here just stressin about my new work. crazy how fast time is flyin in the office tho, before i know it itll be 2018 which means i will have finished my calendar year in the mish which is pretty cool. not much else new. love you guys soooo much.

Monday, October 9, 2017

welll a year later and i still feel as immature as ever lol. hahah its crazy how fast this past year has flown by. i feel like just yesterday i was saying bye to everyone. just gives me hope that this next year will fly too and ill be with you all again. but it really is crazy how much you can learn in one year. i got thrown into a crazy different culture with a different language and its been a crazy journey. ive seen the gospel change people and ive learned to appreciate everything i have. the people of honduras have taught me it doesnt matter how much you have or your circumstances, its all about attitude. it definitely hasnt been an easy year but im so grateful for it. i know its only gonna get better and i gotta take advantage of this last year. but as far as the last couple weeks have been its been super good here in the mish. we got to watch conference in the office with some dennys and then on monday we played paintball. pretty chill week after that no meetings or anything so the office is chill. but changes are coming up so we gotta start working again. then i hit the one year which was sick. me and my best bud huscroft (my comp from the mtc) both hit a year together so we wilded out. it was super fun. only 11 months left. love you guys and peace until the next letter.

crazy week

wow this week has been insane. on monday everyone found out their transfers and we started preparing for everything. But Tuesday is when hell week really began. so on tuesday morning we had to go pick up all the new missionaries from the airport and bring them to the church building to have them meet their trainers and to listen to a bunch of presentations. after that meeting we went to drop all of them off at there areas and get everything ready for a meeting we had the next day. after setting up all the stuff for the meeting, we met up with two of our friend missionaries who were going home and had a last minute celebration with them to say bye. next day we had another big meeting that we had to take care of  which lasted all day. Finally thursday came around (the only day that week we were able to be in the office all day to prepare all of our graphics, powerpoints, other stuff prez asked for, along with all the other responsibilities we have) and the internet decided to stop working so instead of getting all of our work done we had to wait for someone to come fix it (which they didnt end up fixing till saturday). That really sucked cause on friday we had another big meeting for all the zone leaders that we had to set up for and we hadnt done any of our weekly responsibilities so we had no idea when we would get everything done. moral of the story is we had to come in on saturdayand finish everything that we shouldve done during the week. hahahah i know that probably didnt make a whole lot of sense but just know we were running around all week and in total we slept about 7 hours lol. but ya super stressful week but at the same time it was kinda fun. still surviving out here love you all.

Sin Sujeto

cool week. honestly weve just been rushing around alot trying to get everything ready for the meeting we had on Thursday with Tad R. Callister. but everything went super smooth which was awesome cause its always a lil bit stressful when a general authority comes. but it was cool. he talked alot about the atonement and how essential it is in our lives and how we need to teach it with clarity in our lessons. definitely learned that its something i need to better in my lessons. but apart from that it was a super normal week. we did get to have stake conference this week which was dope because our mission president came and talked to the stake and i love when our president talks. he told the members how they need to use their technology to help the missionaries because with our 1975 brick phones we cant really use the internet to our advantage. the man is a good speaker. but all in all im out here surviving. enjoyin my time.

another week in the office. its good as always just full of stress and fun. We´ve been running around this week getting documents and stuff ready for missionaries that are leaving. and this week Elder Callister (the Sunday school general president) is coming so we´ve got a ton of stuff to get ready for the meeting on Thursday. Should be pretty fun. As far as any work goes we havent gotten a whole lot of time to work in our area this week because weve been so busy in the office but were hoping to work a lil better this week. still enjoyin the mission and skkkkkrrrrtttting up on a year so thats dope.

feels

well i can honestly say that this has been the longest and hardest year of my life. but for those of you that know me, you know i dont like talking about feelings so ill leave you with this. Im so grateful for this church. i have far from a perfect testimony, im far from a perfect member and im definitely far from being a perfect missionary, but this year with everything that has happened, taught me exactly that. Life is not perfect. I think alot of times we say that just because im a member, nothing bad is ever going to happen or because i go to church every week life will always be happy. But realistically its not always gonna be like that.  Sometimes we can do everything exactly right and were still gonna face challenges. The most important thing is that we keeping moving forward with faith. Its been rough but im trying to do that and i know that all will be well in the end. Love you guys and im sorry, thats as mushy as ill get in my emails i promise.

secretary life

Honestly within a week the mission life has changed liked crazy. Now that I'm in the office there is a whole lot of responsibility and crazy different schedule. So pretty much what I do is every day from Monday to Friday, we get to the office at 9 and work until 4. I'm in charge of all the baptismal records and all the stats of the mission and if anyone needs to move houses in the mission they talk to me. I'ts pretty tough but it also comes with a lot of sweet benefits. I actually got to take a HOT shower for the first time in like 9 months lol. We also are the only Elders who get car privileges and our house has a washer from the 1800s but it's 1000 times better than the washing by hand I've had to do the past months. I'ts honestly really cool. I know it's gonna be stressful at times but it's definitely worth it. I think it'll be a really cool experience. not much else hattnin, just livin as lavish as possible in Honduras right now.

wellllllll

Hey fam, so its been a good last week in Catacamas. We celebrated Elder Villeda's birthday, taught an english class at a "highschool" here, had a pretty sick mission activity on Friday night and killed another rat lol. but just found out that im going to the mission offices as a secretary. its so crazy cause every time I try to avoid responsibility they keep throwing it on lol. no but for real it'll be super good even though my spanish isn't as great as i wished it was and i only have been out for 10 months, I know it'll be a cool opportunity. i'm kinda nervous but i guess we'll see how everything turns out.

subject

hey what up? very normal week. we almost got robbed. but that was about it. we were close to our house and a dood stopped on his motorcycle and said something but we didn't understand so we kept walking so he drove up a bit and said something again and again we kept walking and same thing happened but this time he reached his hand back to make it look like he was reaching for his gun but me and my comp are big doods and we were pretty close to him so i think he realized we could take him cause he took his hand out of the back of his shirt after like 15 seconds and then zoomed off lol.

cuatro de julio

hey what up fam. this week started off pretty sick, we found one of the few rich families in honduras and convinced them to have us over for fourth of july. they gave us a fat dinner of pasta, salad and cake (not the most american meal but we appreciated the effort). then after dinner we lit off some fireworks they had left over from navidad and a few other ones they bought which was pretty cool and probably confused the neighbors cause they had no idea what we were celebrating. after that the week took a turn for the worst my comp came down with zika. which believe it or not is not as bad as twitter made us believe. but ya we had to stay home for like 3 days while he rested. and out in the mission theres not much to do when your comp is sick except read alot and think about home lolol. but we back which is nice cause its easier to distract yourself and not think about home when you out working. then on sunday a member of the 70 of the area came to our ward and asked us to come up in the middle of his talk and sing families can be together forever which wouldve been incredibly embarrassing but our ward only has like 60 mebers so it was aight. and then he just told all the members that  if the really believe families can be together forever they need to help us as missionaries in bringing others to church and giving us references. which was super cool cause now we got the ward supporting us a lil more. but besides that just a long boring week. love you guys tho

Thursday, June 29, 2017

hey guys its your boy brendo. not too much to report this week. just an average one. we out here working and sweating. we had a multi zone conference about faith. which was good, because faith is so important out here. they repeated mark 9:23 like a thousand times which was really cool cause i think we forget that a lot. not much else happened except for last night we (i mean i because my comp was too scared) had a pretty crazy rat chase. so rats are a problem down here along with a lot of other problems down here lol. but like a couple weeks ago we noticed a rat run across our study room so we chased it outside but apparently he came back cause last night while i was laying down i saw him zoom across the room. so we decided this time we were capturing him for good. so i grabbed a pasta colander (or however you spell that) and we trapped it in our study room. he was hiding behind some boxes of books of mormon and stuff so i told my comp to go kick the boxes and right then that rat zoomed out. i threw the colander on him but i trapped his neck under the rim of the colander so as he was like being strangled by the thing we just squished his head. after a couple pics we threw him to our neighbors dog and that was the end of our story. just hope another one doesnt show up. on the bright side i heard honduras just beat el salvador as the most dangerous country in the world so thats sick. lol love you guys!!

hey guys

hey guys. another week. we had changes this week but because im training the guy im with right now, we get to stay together another change in catacamas together. pretty chill week although there are alot of missionaries finishig their missions right now so this change alot of areas got closed and i got made district leader of not only the two sisters who were already in my district but of the zone leaders and the sister training leaders. which is crazy cause i was trying to avoid responsibility and yet here we are getting more and more put on lol. no but its all good they say that as soon as you get comfortable in the mission they give you another challenge, so i guess its all good for the growth. nothin too crazy this week happened, just working like normal. its starting to rain alot which sucks cause working in the rain blows when all your streets are straight dirt. its like walking through muddy rivers every where we go. Reber is about to hit a year which is crazy cause i feel like just yesterday we were saying bye and grabbing some fili b's. (ooooo what id do for a california burrito). shakira just came out with a new song with nicky jam which is real good. my love for her grows stronger everyday lol. funny story for the week:  theres this family that we always hang out with because theyre super funny but only half of the fam is member and less active at that. the only real member served a mission and is now in argentina studying. but we think he left some of his garments on accident and his 17 year old brother was wearing it like a normal tshirt lolol. also let me establish the kid who went on a mission is the only one that went to the temple and stuff like that so the two other members that are baptized in his family have no idea about garments or that sttuff so it was hilarious and awkward cause we didnt know what to say. thats pretty much it. love you guys so much and keep the emails coming im getting lonely.

long week

hey guys its been awhile. but super crazy couple of weeks. we had a multizone conference, we had 3 baptisms, did a service project and rainy season is finally here (it was nice to have a different change of weather and routine), found a new baleada place, ate there too many times, got sick from baleada place, stomach killed me then all the pain went to my appendix area so i started to get scared, went to a clinic, doctor tells us 90 percent is apendicitis, rush 4 hours to tegucigalpa, get to hospital, tell us its just a really bad infection, chill in tegus for a couple days, came back and im taking a ton of pills lol, saturday a member invited us over to watch the end of the champions league, where freaking real madrid took another cup, and this week we have apostle dale g renlund coming so that'll be sick. and on a high note my comp loves taking pics soooo i might actually have a constant email for while. (that is if we don't get changed). lol love you guys.
